The CONAVHDA fall test took place September 21-24. Thursday, Saturday & Sunday Natural Ability tests were held at the Elliot Property at the Grasslands – Special thanks to the Elliot’s for the use of their fantastic property. Friday’s Utility test was held at Mayfield Pond. Overall 30 dogs participated in our test, we had six Utility dogs, two Utility Prep dogs, and 22 Natural Ability pups. Test judges were Phil Swain, Larry Stone, Ron Garrison and Sue Cameron. Dominic Bachman & Brandon Smith were apprentice judges. Test scores are attached.
Congratulations to all handlers and their dogs, the enthusiasm and encouragement from all those involved made for a fun, positive event that went smoothly.
Several members contributed to make the test a success. Thanks to Jeremy Davis, Brian McGrath, Todd Dunkirk, Bruce Gaudette, Jess Spradley, Ryan Bales & Mark Newell for their bird planting skills; to Field Marshals Kathy & Mark Steele for keeping things moving and on time throughout the weekend; to David & Angie Riden for preparing meals all weekend, the food was excellent! Another thank you to the Ridens for bringing all the necessary shelters, tables and supplies; to Mark Steele & Grant Hanson for gunning; another thank you to Grant for picking up, transporting and caring for the test birds; to test secretary Larry Stone for everything he does to get people registered and make sure we are prepared & organized for the test. Apologies if I omitted anyone by mistake.
A huge thank you to Todd Dunkirk, Steve Waller, Scott Haugen & Laurel Zepp for generously donating raffle items. Their donations do a great deal to help raise funds for the chapter.
